Story

This project involved creating print collateral for Lola Lokaal, a new neighbourhood community hub in Amsterdam. The work spans two distinct pieces: an introductory flyer announcing the hub's opening, and a promotional flyer for a South American dance event hosted in partnership with IJburgdoejemee.

For the hub launch flyer, the challenge was to communicate warmth, accessibility, and variety — introducing the space as a place for creativity, sustainability, social connection, and personal initiative. The design uses a bright orange accent colour to signal energy and approachability, paired with circular photo crops that give the piece a friendly, editorial feel.

The dance event flyer called for a completely different energy. Working with a deep forest green palette and bold condensed typography, the design captures the vibrance of Latin culture while staying grounded in the neighbourhood context. The layout balances large typographic hierarchy with a candid group photo, making the event feel both exciting and personal.

Together, these pieces demonstrate an ability to work within a shared brand identity while adapting tone, colour, and layout to serve very different communication goals — from community onboarding to live event promotion.
