SET Community Gardens is a neighbourhood initiative in Amsterdam IJburg. For their Ecologies of Care programme — a collaboration with Fear of Happiness — they needed an event flyer that could carry a lot of information while still feeling inviting and rooted in the community it represents. The design centres on an organic, irregular shape as the main container — a deliberate break from conventional rectangular flyer layouts, echoing the natural, unstructured quality of garden spaces. A collage of documentary-style photographs is layered within this shape to give an immediate sense of the people and activities involved. The typographic system uses a bold, condensed display font for the main headlines to create strong visual hierarchy, while body text and supporting details are set in a lighter weight to allow the layout to breathe. The colour palette — deep green, off-white, and a soft lavender accent — was pulled directly from the Ecologies of Care brand identity. Both an Instagram post and story format were produced, adapting the composition to each aspect ratio without losing the design's character.
